On April 8th, 2022, we proudly hosted the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of the St. Luke’s Sports Rink/Saquon Barkley Center of Excellence. This event highlighted the historic partnership between St. Luke’s University Health Network and the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation, uniting to provide opportunities for underserved youth in the Whitehall community and beyond. Saquon Barkley’s involvement, rooted in his deep connection to his hometown, underscores the shared commitment to fostering physical activity, academic success, and life skills, creating a lasting positive impact for future generations.

St. Luke’s University Health Network held its annual All-Star Awards Show on WFMZ-TV Channel 69 on Thursday, June 13. Recognizing the region’s top scholastic and youth club athletes, coaches and teams, St. Luke’s presented awards in eight categories during a live broadcast. 

On March 25th, 2023, we had the honor of hosting the PA Golden Gloves Boxing Central District Semi-Finals, showcasing some of the region’s most talented boxers. The event brought electrifying energy as athletes competed with skill, determination, and passion for a chance to advance in the prestigious tournament.

One October 26-27, 2024, the St. Luke’s Sports Rink proudly hosted the Savage Nationals Tournament, featuring elite Nuway Combat Armwrestling and Nuway Wrestling. Athletes showcased incredible strength and skill in an action-packed weekend that united fans and competitors in the spirit of competition.
